Tick Tok

What is life? It is simply an experience defined by years, months, days, hours and seconds. Therefore, we conclude that anyone’s existence can be demarcated by mere digits known as ‘time’. One must wonder how he shall make use of this trivial period in order to accomplish all that he yearns and achieve his ambitions. In fact, the answer is guileless; two words 17 letters ‘Time Management’.

Making reference to a personnel experience to clarify my point, personally I notably lack the capability of organization and premeditation thus I usually find myself surrounded by disorder and insufficient time to finish my biddings. Moreover, this previous year I was confronted by innumerable impediments regarding my school work; stocky and prodigious workloads were constantly being hurled at my feet. Chaos, sleep deprivation and depression could only describe a fragment of dilapidating state! In contrast, I began to notice that several of my classmates were managing to maintain static lifestyles compared to mine. After questioning and research my mind was illuminated by the evident answer that I had failed to determine: without proper time management and organization my life was inevitably destined for collision with a dim reality! Although I once considered this ‘theory’ to by my rival it turned out to be my greatest comrade, that shall slavish me from failure if I am willing to see it through. Frankly, I believe that life is a prize, that no second should be wasted and that every moment must be lived to the fullest, but in order to obtain all what one desires he must first perceive the key of any successful life which is categorically ‘time management’. Yes, many people believe that ‘you only live once’ why plan it, be spontaneous, be frivolous and explore all what life has to offer, just let me tell you that life there’s a fine line between knowing how to live and being plain recklessness.

To conclude, in order to pick all the fruits of life in the vast field we call ‘existence’ one must organize his time, there’s an obvious difference between ‘living’ and simply ‘existing’ ‘’because everybody does but not everybody lives’’, managing your time is managing your life, make sure you’re building concrete towers not castles in the sand.

Justice or money?

Money, theft, tyranny, oppression and discrimination weren't they all adjoined to our national anthem during the past 3 decades? Liberty, justice and equality were not these the chants of a million voices screaming for liberation? It’s appalling for me to think that such a proposition was announced normally and received with such complicity by some.

Personally, I listened morosely to the news whilst I was left in enigma to the reason an immediate response was not yet attributed. Shall we sell the pride we have seized for money that will end up in the hands of God knows who? However, I must admit that I contemplated the tough for many days and found myself facing a devastating conclusion. In fact , the situation in all its eventualities has an inconvenient outcome for the Egyptian people , allow me to elaborate : Firstly , if we accept this financial scandal it would be as if we are admitting in front of the entire nation that retribution could be bought off , is that not a form of bribery that we so valiantly fought against? Secondly, the economic situation in Egypt is gradually atrophying while all our efforts to stabilize it seem to end in vain, we do indeed need the money that is in origin rightfully ours. Nevertheless, if we do receive the money and grant them freedom, to whom will it be consigned? Who is trustworthy enough to stand face to the mistrust captivated inside the hearts of the people? Thirdly, some propose to take the money and keep the prisoners in captivity, if we were truly capable of acquiring the money why would they even put such a proposition on the table and what on earth would make them accept? This act of 'philanthropy' they're trying to pull is nothing but a sign that corruption still reigns and that we are incapable of obtaining by our own means what is ours in the first place. In contrast, we must not forget that in all these scenarios the so called 'feloul' live a descent and lavish lifestyle while in prison or out of it, now where's the justice in that?

In conclusion, my final though in relation to the topic is that justice must prevail! Although our future rests ambiguous, yet if we yearn a fresh new start we must begin the journey from the right path this time.

Personal Project

After contemplating at 9 months of hard labor , I can confidently look at the mirror and say that "I did it! ". To clarify , my personal project consists of elaborating a book entitled "can you see us" . This literary novel is composed of five short stories, each depicting a poverty related aspect I wish to emphasis on in order to transpire the hardships this deprived social class endures. My primordial goal is to contribute in highlighting the existence of this pity evoking social strata in order to underline the necessity of aiding and salvaging them from their deteriorating living standards. Frankly, at the beginning of this quest I though many times of altering my choice of topics into something less ambitious in deference to the obstacles I faced. Obviously , writing a book is no walk in the park , it was a long and exhausting journey that stimulates one's mind and tests his commitment and patience. However , after looking at what I have achieved , it was worth it ! The concept of the personal project is not just a distasteful theory that simply aims to pressure the student throughout an entire year . On the contrary it is an opportunity for each student to walk the first steps towards maturity and independence ! Honestly , this experience has taught me to remain dogged and resolute in order to obtain what I desire , in life nothing can be obtained easily , only through hard work and devotion do we amount to success and achieve our aspirations !

What's the only kind of ship that doesn't sink? A Friendship :P

Friendship, what is this abstract concept? What does it signifies? Well, friendship is no theory or some sort phenomena that could be explained in mere words. Evidentially, it is a strong rapport that emerges between two individuals, this type of relationship is a unique of its kinds, for it us the exchange of pure, truthful love and human communication. Like I said before , friendship is not a term definable by words it is a whole experience by itself  ,one like no other , it is a chance to grow, prosper, learn, love, laugh, cry and most prominently an opportunity to share your life with someone who matters, isn’t that all everyone’s searching for?

In fact, everyone has their own definition and expectation of what friendship should like or be like. Moreover, I’ve been asked to write an essay exposing the qualities I seek for in a companion and the anticipation he should achieve in order for me to consider him ‘a good friend’. To be sincere, I do not look in certain qualities hence choosing my friends, I cannot preclude the change of friendship with an individual’s just become he doesn’t share the same idea, principals or beliefs I do! From my perspective, friendship is an exceptional occasion to teach and learn, to act and react, to observe and imitate, to experience and to give experience. Friendship cannot be defined by certain characteristics or ambitions, it is an adventure and a risk every human should undergo in order to prosper, if we demarcated certain features we think are imperative in a friend and abided by them, we would definitely become prisoner of self-imposed isolation!

Nevertheless, I must note that although we should not set certain indicators in deference to which we choose our friends, we should be vigilant to some general traits or behavior patterns that entitle the individual to be truly considered as a bad friend whom we must avoid relations with. In brief, friendship is a journey on which we embark with different companions, they journey might be long or short, anguished or pleasant and sometimes, amusing or placid, who knows? The only thing that matters is to learn from each journey we take and learn from our mistakes because that’s how we evolve as human beings.

The Endless Road Towards Freedom

When depicting a prodigious debate like the one at hand we must first define the key words in this reflexion. On one side, we have the constitution which is a collection of a set of rules ,law, and principals that must be obeyed and followed firmly, in reverence to their restrictions and guidelines ,by the Egyptian people and which upon any breach of conduct puts an individual in a position of censure or condemnation. The purpose of this  concept is to create harmony, equality , justice and order in the community. On the other hand, we have the President, a political figure who assembles the leadership and governance of a certain country or region.

Evidentially, the first constitution recorded in history was elaborated by Wethersfiled,Windsor ,and Hartford , all located in Connecticut. This phenomena was created in 1638 and entitled 'Fundamental Orders'.

In Egypt, in the fall 2011, an unforgettable event that shall remain forever engraved in the mind of each Egyptian citizen was withheld. An uprising, that has come to be known as the 25of January revolution, which was a surrealist illustration of the people’s rage against diverse forms of oppression and repression they have been enduring for far too long. In consequence, the former President Mubarak was driven out of power and Egypt found itself without a ruler.Currently, we are on the verge of a clean beginning as we approach the constitution rectifications and the first proper president election in 30 years. Nevertheless, an important question was transfigured to the surface, who should come first, establishment of the constitution or election of the president?

Frankly, it is a matter of perspective which many people might have come to differ upon. Should we rapidly choose a leader to slavish the country from this obscure path or should we learn from our mistakes and inaugurate a strict set of laws to delimit the authority of the President?

Personally, I think Presidential designation should be the priority at hand. To elaborate, I would like to underline the substantial fact that up till now , Egypt is undergoing a transgression period , which has so been progressively worsening   ; chaos, absence of police, riots, murders, thefts , car abduction , kidnaps and many other phenomena’s   have infiltrated and propagated in our society over the past few month. However, the law currently exists as it always has; the only variance is that it needs a strict hand to apply it! That is my I presume that electing a President should be our first step towards liberation and democracy. In fact, do you truly believe  that the new leader will be injudicious and unwise to the extent of committing the imprudent mistake of disobeying or deceiving a country that has been through a striving war this past year?

On the contrary, rationally, he shall benignly assure that the Egyptian people are pleased with him at first, consequently a few months later the constitution will be re-established and the president will have to act in deference to the verdicts and restrictions of the law.

In conclusion, by selecting an appropriate and trustworthy candidate we shall ensure the application of the law that shall be renovated once the elections are over.

‘’It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn and I’m feeling good.’’ YES! It’s that time of year again, the verge of a new chapter in the book of life.  It is New Year’s Eve, the wildest night of the year, massive parties, joyful cheers, nightlife at its finest, celebrations and ragging events, and  that sensational special moment while you’re counting down to midnight with your loved ones beside you then burst into shrieks of joy as the clock strikes 12 and announces the beginning of a new year. In contrast, New Year’s is not only about the adrenaline of a substantial alteration in your life, it’s also an opportunity innumerable people grasp to reflect upon this previous year and hence forth elaborate something known as ‘New Year’s Resolutions list’ which consists of writing down a variety of things such as; new adventures you would like to explore, qualities you would like to evoke, mistakes you wish to avoid etc.. In brief, it simply is an inadequate excuse people like to allow themselves in order to persuade their own selves that change is inevitable but they were merely waiting for the perfect moment. But do these people even realize the true value of time and change? Just Allow me to underline an aspect of its prodigious expedience; ‘’to improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.’’

Frankly, I myself used to participate in lettering ambitious and beneficial Resolutions thinking that I was embarking on the first steps of a protracted journey toward the renovation of a better me. However, a few days later this prosaic piece of paper would mysteriously disappear and the promises once made would gradually dissolve from my mind. I did not discontinue the elaboration of these ‘self-made promises’ because I lost the papers, but more likely because my mind was enlightened with the reality of life, ‘’it’s now or never, I aint gonna live forever’, no date, time nor place can define the adequate timing to amend one’s life, I do not know if there is a tomorrow I can barely guaranty today. Thus, I did not bother making resolutions, its either I seize the day and divert the course of my life, or I could watch time fly away like water from an open drain.

Nevertheless, I’m not going to waste my day on this controversy, there is a beautiful world full of chances and opportunity proffering me to come and see what it offers. This zeal is not disengaged by the fact that it’s New Year’s Eve, but because I’m still alive, breathing and healthy, every second you have is a gift, use it wisely. A quick word for 2012 , even though your course and your impact on my life is still ambiguous, i will be sure to make the best out of you throw at me ,no more wasting time, no more laying around ,it's time to focus on what truly maters in my   life , because what I take a for granted today I will see as a blessing later on, lastly, I hope you do not like to imitate American movies.

Globalization is the unity of political, economic and cultural values on a global level. However, this concept is a double edged sword, seeing as countries domination and influence on globalization varies in deference to their wealth. Thus, this phenomenon might abdicate or silences the existence of less powerful countries that are considered to still be in development.

In fact, globalization from my understanding does not exert much advantages .Nevertheless, it does allow the mixture and exposition of different cultures and the inter-breeding of various cultures, and it also allows economic prosperity throughout international commerce and trade. Furthermore, as of February 2011, it is argued that threw the application of globalization economic growth has touched countries located in Asia and Africa which will result in an improvement to health standards and an incline of political incidents.
On the other hand, this theory engenders a series of consequences such as, the risk of the dissolution of cultural individualism seeing as the more dominant countries will enforce their cultures upon more vulnerable ones. Also, Multinational Corporations are currently developing strategy in which they create extensions and offices in developing countries in consequence to the flexibility of their labour laws and environmental restrictions, hence forth these corporations exploit workers to the maximum, disposal of dangerous waste illegally , destruction of natural resources, and snatching away the opportunity of smaller business to be able to prosper and develop.

Frankly, I do believe that globalization will obstruct the progress of developing countries, if political and economic power of the world is withheld generally by the wealthiest of countries this will surely give less space for more feeble countries to be able to evolve at their own pace and mature solely, each country should have the right to build its own economy and possess their own set of values, believes and culture, because what humans can’t understand is that you cannot enforce a uniform ‘’way of life’’ or ‘’way of thinking’’, humans were not endowed with the bliss of ‘the mind’ for it to copy paste information but to allow each individual to grow in his own unique way.

I stand neutral to this perception. My understanding and comprehension of the subject is only limited to one article, thus I cannot base an expedient or even reliable opinion or point of view regarding this theory. However, I do believe that globalization can be an ameliorative element if we apply it correctly if each country is not blinded by its own greed and personal benefits and aims only to the elevation of global standards instead.
